Abstract Measurement of moving picture resolution, using sinusoidal‐bursts with sub‐sampling, has clear advantages over conventional approaches, securing high compatibility with computer and television formats including 1080i/p, high precision up to the pixel resolution, also providing reliable and efficient methodology for subjective test as well as automated measurement.
