On completeness of the piecewise linear basis set and convergence behavior of the piecewise linear series

In this work we first show that the set of piecewise linear (PL) functions introduced by Paul and Koch is complete in the space of functions square integrable over a finite interval [0, T]. We then discuss the convergence behavior of PL series corresponding to this basis set.
