A simplified decoding algorithm for double-error-correcting Reed-Solomon codes

A simplified error and erasure decoding algorithm for double-error-correcting Reed-Solomon codes is presented. The algorithm presupposes the existence of at least one erasure in the received vector. It can be easily implemented in software and requires a small number of Galois field operations.
