A frequency domain approach to the feedback design of a transistor amplifier

Rajni V. Patel · International Journal of Electronics · 1974

In this paper an interactive graphics programme, employing a storage-tube terminal with a keyboard for interaction, is used to design feedback for a single-input, single-output, four-transistor amplifier. The design is carried out entirely in the frequency domain and relies on the choice of suitable pole positions for the closed-loop system. The desired pole positions are chosen from a plot of loci of the system poles for variation of the feedback gain. The value of the feedback resistor is then obtained from the feedback gain and the result is verified by analysing the feedback amplifier with the calculated value of the feedback resistor.
