High Performance Computing Symposium 2012 (HPCS2012)
Jana Makar · Journal of Physics Conference Series · 2012
The High Performance Computing Symposium (HPCS) is a multi-disciplinary conference that is considered to be Canada's premier HPC forum. Each year, researchers, industry experts, vendors and HPC innovators in academia and industry gather to exchange new tools, techniques and results in and for HPC and computational research. HPCS 2012 ( http://2012.hpcs.ca/ ) was hosted by WestGrid/Compute Canada and held in Vancouver, BC on 1–3 May 2012 alongside the BCNET Annual Conference. More than 550 HPC experts and tech innovators attended three days of workshops, demos, panels and presentations. We would like to thank all the sponsors, speakers, staff, and delegates for helping make HPCS 2012 a success. Also, thank you to the authors of these papers and to the reviewers for their support in the preparation of these proceedings. HPCS 2013 will be held in Ottawa, ON. For more information, visit http://hpcs.ca/ . As a national organization, Compute Canada coordinates and promotes the use of HPC in Canadian research and works to ensure that Canadian researchers have the computational facilities and expert services necessary to advance scientific knowledge and innovation. WestGrid, one of Compute Canada's largest regional partners, is composed of 14 partner institutions spanning British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. The HPCS 2012 Organizing Committee
