First of all, I want to thank you for inviting me. I am pleased to be here and pleased that you've chosen to attend this session. During the next few minutes, let's think together about the economic environment facing higher education, the impact of federal economic policy and the challenges this may bring to us as we seek to provide leadership for this fascinating decade. How we see the challenge will have a significant impact not only on the individual institutions we serve but on higher education in general and it will also affect the satisfaction we receive from what we do.
