An accurate voltage dividing circuit
Bengt Alvsten, ERIK LJUNG · International Journal of Electronics · 1975
The design of a circuit which, without any trimming or special precautions, divides one voltage V 1 by another V 2, with an accuracy of the order of 0.3% for inputs over one decade each is described. This accuracy is better than that of a divider built around logarithmic amplifiers based on diode characteristics. The circuit is a precision voltage to frequency converter. The converter can be made to operate with a linearity better than 0.0005% fsd (Alvsten 1973). The output frequency f is in the form The output signal can be fed directly into a digital counter to give full utilization of the accuracy.
