Experimental expert system for audiometric testing

D. Simler, Osman Ilkay Ozdamar · Proceedings of the Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society · 1988

An experimental expert system for audiometric testing has been developed for desktop computers. This system is capable of administering air and bone conduction testing with noise masking, recognizing and classifying audiograms and tympanograms, and reaching a tentative interpretive diagnosis. The system is written in Prolog and runs on MS-DOS-based microcomputers. Preliminary results show that it is possible to implement a limited audiological expert system on microcomputers.>
