Damping measurements with a maintained torsional pendulum

J.H. Pérez, Pierre Péguin, Pierre François Gobin · Journal of Scientific Instruments · 1966

A device which gives a torsional pendulum either constant-amplitude oscillations or a constant energy is described. The values of internal friction can be found by measuring a current or the amplitude of the oscillations. A Snoek damping peak measured in this way is presented.
