Securing IP Multicast over GEO satellites
Haitham S. Cruickshank · 2000
Security is an important concern for today's information age, and more so in today's increasingly inter-networked community of people. GEO satellites are ideally suited to multicast due to their wide area coverage, especially with multiple spot beams in higher frequencies and on-board processing. This research is conducted within the European IST project called Multicast Over Geostationary EHF Satellites (GEOCAST). This paper focuses on the security system architecture for IP multicast over GEO satellites. It presents a security system architecture for multicast key distribution, and discusses security issues relating to satellite access control. (5 pages)
