Paper cuts: security in non-digital written media
Wendy Goucher · Computer Fraud & Security · 2008
In recent times it seems there has been a stream of stories regarding the loss of computer discs and laptops containing sensitive information. This has led to a near exclusive business focus on the prevention of electronic data loss. However, a careful examination of the recent incident where the security marked documents from the Cabinet Office were left on a train and handed to the BBC leads me to feel that it was indicative of the careless disregard often paid to security when carrying and reading sensitive paper documents.1
