A representational language for qualitative process control
Richard M. Matejka, Thomas J. Lagnese · 1988
This paper describes the Qualitative Process Control Environment (QPCE) which is used to prototype qualitative control systems. The language provided within this environment allows process engineers to place their knowledge about the process in an executable closed loop control system. We focus on one application, autoclave curing of composites, and use the QPCE to create a process control model. This work will demonstrate that the process control model based upon event driven schedules will accomodate wide process variations yet maintain maximum product yield.
