Management of urgent emergency engineering projects

Emergency engineering work has become increasingly important to avoid or repair unexpected faults or damage to industrial and public service systems. This paper draws on case studies of the emergency engineering work for recent flood threats and rail disasters in the UK to define general lessons for the management of future urgent emergency work in any industry or service.
