Michal Srnec, Peter Palúch · 2014

Autonomic network management has been in a foreground of a research since many years. It brings autonomic computing principles in network management. Complexity of today's networks is growing very fast and autonomic computing brings an ultimate possibility how to manage the network in face of daily operations of human administrators. This paper starts with a brief overview of today's autonomic principles which is followed by the analysis of the main drawbacks of current autonomic network architectures. The ultimate goal of this paper is to present a new concept of an autonomic network architecture - the Simple Policy Based Architecture.
