Sampled-data processing for feedback control

FEEDBACK CONTROL SYSTEMS in which the data at one or more points are in the form of pulse trains or sequences of numbers are known as sampled-data feedback control systems. These systems are most readily analyzed1, 2in terms of the so-called z-transforms which are the Laplace transforms of impulse-modulated time functions with the delay operator e−nTsreplaced by the variable z−n.
