It is interesting to note that if we put a = b, and Kx = Ky = K the solution coincides exactly with that obtained by Gradowczyk for a clamped spherical dome with curvature K. Further in the limiting case as Kx and Ky tend to zero we obtain limit W=q1(l-f)/4 = ql(l-x/a-y/b)/4 (30) Kx,Ky-+0 which is the exact expression for the bending of a clamped, uniformly loaded elliptic plate.
