On optimization of the design of metal-film segment capacitors

Results of the experimental studies of the electric properties of metallized polymer films for segment metal-film capacitors are presented. The optimization criteria for selection of the geometrical dimensions of insulating gaps between segments and metallized fuses are determined. The surface resistance of the metallized coating and the chemical structure of polymer films are found to influence the operation parameters of the segment capacitor dielectric.
