Source localization of an acoustic target by artificial neural networks
Steven H. Chin, James H. Howard · The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America · 1990
The problem of source localization of an acoustic target is studied in the context of neural networks. A performance evaluation is given for different source/array configurations. The means by which a neural network, employing backpropagation, can generalize this problem for accurate source localization is discussed based on experimental results. The application of these findings to practical situations is examined.
