Overview: In this project we propose the concept of Oriented Display”, which enables an operator to perceive and to operate the virtual object as if it were a real object. Based on this concept, we designed and implemented three types of object oriented display: (i) The MEDIA-A (MEDIA-Ace), (ii) The MEDIA3 (MEDIACube) and (iii) The MEDIA X’tal (MEDIA-Crystal). The MEDIA-A consists of a liquid crystal display (LCD) panel and a tilt sensor. The MEDIA3 consists of a position/orientation sensor and four LCD panels, which is arranged in the shape of cubic body. The MEDIA X a type of object oriented display which uses optical projection.
