A stable square-wave generator†

A square-wave generator with a frequency stability of the order of 10−3 is described. The circuit is basically a difference amplifier with cross-coupling feedback connections to generate stable relaxation oscillation. Output waveform is sharp even at sub-audio frequencies and the wave shape is not seriously affected by resistive or capacitive loads.
