On the relation between gain and phase characteristics of a minimum-phase digital filter

This paper describes a method by which the transfer function of a minimum-phase digital filter can be determined from a knowledge of either the gain function or the phase function. The method makes use of the development of the real and imaginary parts of the transfer function in Fourier series whose coefficients are determined if either the gain or the phase is specified as a function of frequency. Some illustrative examples are given.
