An electronic data recording system†

David J. Malcolme-Lawes, D. S. Urch · International Journal of Electronics · 1970

A device is described in which thyristors are used to store information as to the state of a digital display unit (e.g. digital voltmeter or sealer). One thyristor corresponds to each possible setting of each possible tube. A trigger pulse of about 10-6 sec duration is used, to ’ read ’ the display and the corresponding thyristors become conducting. The conducting thyristors can then be used to transmit a ’ print ’ pulse for a conventional tape punch or printer. The speed of repetition is limited only by the speed of the punch unit (or printer).
