Design of Distributed-Loudspeaker Speech Systems
Martin Frederick Gardiner, David H. Kaye · The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America · 1961
This paper considers the relation of various design parameters of distributed-loudspeaker speech-amplification systems to the two principal design criteria: “intelligibility” and “naturalness.” A convenient design procedure is described involving the calculation of the speech “articulation index” for the system. Some of the results of recent experiments on the evaluation of distributed-loudspeaker speech systems will be included.
