Spectral low-frequency signature associated with a hydrocarbon spill

In this work we perform a multi-resolution spectral analysis of 14 GPR CMP profiles using the continuous wavelet transform (CWT). The mother wavelet is a complex frequency B-Spline wavelet. The spectral contents of the GPR signal are analyzed and we show that the presence of one or two of the phases, free and vapor, of a LNAPL spill is clearly reflected in some of its spectral components. Moreover we give indication here that the LNAPL free-phase and the vapor-phase affect the spectral contents in a different manner.
