Note on the evaluation method of the configurational partition function of a polypeptide molecule: Relationship between the matrix method and the generating function method

We show the relationship between the two conventional methods for evaluating the configurational partition function of a polypeptide molecule: (a) the matrix method and (b) the generating function method. Following the spectral theory, the generating function method is another representation of the matrix method, and thus these methods are equivalent to each other.
