Minimizing the disadvantages of embedded SQL/Ada
James W. Moore · 1992
Two forms of the ANSI standard binding of Ada to SQL exisb (1) the procedural or "module" form where application programs make Ada procedure calls upon an SQL module, and (2) the embedded form where the SQL statements am intermixed with the code of the application program.Vendors claiming conformance with the standard must provide at least one of the two forms. Most A& experta recommend the use of the module form of the binding, but for historical and commercial reasons one is likely to find implementations of the embedded form.TMs article wiif describe an idiom for use of the embedded form which preserves the modularity implicit in the module form of the binding and which presewes the ability to port to a module binding.
