Health monitoring has been studied to improve the coverage and reduce the cost of healthcare services, especially for patients in independent living environment. There is a need to monitor wellness of patients living independently to allow suitable interventions as and when needed. Wellness includes vital signs, medications, daily activities, sleep pattern, food and behavioral activities. Wireless and mobile technologies are being used to support such monitoring. In this paper, we present a framework for context-aware wireless wellness monitoring. We present multiple components of the framework and show one implementation of the framework. The proposed framework can lead to implementation of smart monitoring systems that are highly suitable for wellness monitoring and supporting related interventions.
