Use Cases as Aspects - An Approach to Software Composition
Dean Wampler · 2003
Aspect-Oriented Software Development addresses the “crosscutting concerns” that compromise the modularity of ObjectOriented systems by modularizing these concerns as aspects and by providing mechanisms to combine aspect and object modules to compose applications. Use Cases are also crosscutting concerns. This paper discusses a vision of DomainDriven Development where use-case-driven software development is treated as a form of AOSD. Use cases are implemented as independent modules and applications are composed by combining use case modules. The potential advantages and disadvantages of this approach are discussed, along with the issues that require further investigation and the expected evolution of this approach as AOSD techniques emerge and evolve.
