HIPAA Security regulations are forcing many organizations to secure electronic individually identifiable health information. Some side benefits of such an undertaking are improving information management processes, creating a foundation for compliance with other regulations, and maintaining their level of readiness within a security program that aligns with the HIPAA security risk- based approach. This provides effective, enterprisewide risk management.
