Senate considers expanded computer crime role

Steamrolling through the US Senate is legislation partly aimed at increasing the profile of the Central Intelligence Agency, the National Security Agency and the Department of Defense in combating computer crime in the United States and abroad. Senate Bill 2448, also known as the ‘Internet Integrity and Critical Infrastructure Protection Act of 2000’, is co-sponsored by Republican Senator Orrin Hatch of Utah and Democratic Senator Charles Schumer of New York.
