The Dot Bombs …

This year we've seen that the information security industry is not immune from the turmoil of the financial markets. Layoff and company closings are happening with many of the start-up security shops. Counterpane, Fiderus, Evident, and even METASeS have had to “restructure” in attempts to become profitable. Fortunately, I can tell you my company hasn't laid off any security engineers; it is my understanding this is not the case with others. It is interesting this is happening at a time when Internet and information security is in the news more than ever before. I wonder why?
