Convergence of adaptive equaliser for data transmission

A faster algorithm is proposed to determine the optimal tap setting of transversal delay-line equalisers which use the criterion that the mean-square error is minimum. The convergence of this algorithm is compared with the well known steepest-descent algorithm.
