Linearity and a Tuning Procedure for Fuzzy Logic Controllers

In this article, it is shown that a fuzzy logic controller can be designed to give general linear feedback control. The linearity conditions for fuzzy logic control are given. Based on the common practices and tuning rules for linear control, a tuning procedure for fuzzy logic control is proposed. The effectiveness of the tuning procedure was experimentally demonstrated with a vacuum control system.
