Estimation of UMTS RAN resources for special events
Dejan S. Vujić · 2014
High user density events (special events) are seen in mobile operators' radio access networks almost every day. Such events have strong influence on users' perception of the network quality. It is necessary to estimate capacity of the network by joint analysis of radio interface and baseband capacity resources in order to evaluate its' quality. Results obtained for UMTS RAN and different users' traffic profiles have been fitted by appropriate probability density function in order to provide basis for evaluating necessary resources to support required baseband capacity at the special events.
