Modified Alpha-Trimmed Filter for Processing Homogeneous Regions of Radar Images

The properties of the modified alpha-trimmed filter for suppressing multiplicative noise and spikes removal from the homogeneous regions of radar images are studied. The filter analysis was performed with regard to the real peculiarities of the SAR images and in comparison to the known algorithms. Good output data and a high speed of the offered version of the alpha-trimmed filtration algorithm allow to use it as a component of the local-adaptive filters. 4 tabs. Ref.: 8 items.
