Reduction of discrepancies at crossing points in geophysical surveys

Rockne H. Johnson · Journal of Geophysical Research Atmospheres · 1971

When a vessel's track consists of a sequence of intersecting segments, discrepancies in the values of the phenomena under survey arise at the intersections. A statistical method is described for reducing these discrepancies by adjustment of the track. A computer program implementing this method has been written and has been tested with synthetic data.
