Purpose The purpose of this paper is to provide an introduction to social networking site Pinterest. Design/methodology/approach This paper provides an overview of Pinterest, its features, and how it can be used in libraries. Findings Pinterest is an immensely popular social networking site that can be used by librarians to interact with patrons and a community of library professionals. Originality/value Pinterest is a social networking site that is still new and unfamiliar to many librarians. This paper provides some familiarity with Pinterest and its use and suggests some ways librarians might consider using a library Pinterest account.
