TOOLPACK: Improving the Programming Environment for Statistical Software

Software tools can assist users to construct and refine applications software. The use of such tools by the Numerical Algorithrs Group has increased our awareness of their benefits. The collaborative project entitled TOOLPACK will produce an integrated set of software tools which are relevant to developers of statistical software; some examples are cited.
