The Effect of Developments in Student Attributes on Success in Programming of Management Students

Sushama P. Patil, Amol C. Goje · 2009

Abstract: In an attempt to improve teaching and learning of programming subjects, for post graduate first year students in Computer Management, researcher has applied the model of differed assignments[1]. The model suggests classification of students in skilled, semiskilled and unskilled categories and shows improvement in skilled group but less success for semiskilled and unskilled group. As a second phase of the model, different development factors affecting programming ability, such as spatial ability, mathematical aptitude etc were considered and exercises were practiced by the students [11]. It improves semiskilled groups, lifts up unskilled group to normal confidence level and does not affect the skilled groups.
