Aspect of the quantisation noise associated with the digital coding of colour-television signals

Richard M. Dorward · Electronics Letters · 1970

Certain relations between the colour subcarrier frequency in a Pal colour-television signal and the sampling frequency of a pulse-code modulation system used to transmit the television signal affect the spectrum of the quantisation noise and can give rise to subjectively objectionable patterning effects.
