Ryo Sato, Yasuto Fukunaga · Systems Research and Behavioral Science · 2008
Abstract This paper focuses on innovation management for service. After examining and classifying service industries and service activities in firms, the incorporation of other systems concepts into innovation architecture (IA) methodology is considered, which is called soft systems methodology (SSM)‐IA. Then the methodology is applied to two commercial e‐marketplaces (steel sheet and food supplies) in Japan. SSM–IA is then further specialized for service innovation and applied in some additional cases. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
