Due to the dynamically varying network topology of ad-hoc networks, the admitted quality of service suffers from frequent path breaks that require network re-establishment over new paths. Thus, rendering ad-hoc networks inappropriate for real-time interactive sessions, e.g., video or audio calls. TORA is a distributed, loop-free, multipath routing protocol for multi-hop networks which supports both source- and destination-initiated routing. This work proposes a token-based queue for TORA to provide higher QoS guarantees for real time interactive applications called RT-TORA. The RT-TORA routing algorithm provides significant improvement over the original TORA algorithm, especially for networks with large number of connections, in both the average packet delay and delivery ratio.
