Spectral Interpolation of the Linear Boltzmann Operator inLpSpaces

The L p spectrum of the linear Boltzmann operator is investigated under rather general conditions. First, we establish a general result that the asymptotic part of the spectrum of the operator is p independent if is compact in L 1 (D × V) for some positive integer n. Then we show that this compactness condition is satisfied by many physically interesting collision operators including regular collision operators.
