Report on FPGA '94

Jonathan Rose · ACM SIGDA Newsletter · 1994

The purpose of the FPGA '94 workshop was to bring together people working on the widely varying technologies needed to create and use Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), Field-Programmable Systems and Field-Programmable Analog Arrays. These technologies include Computer-Aided Design, FPGA Architecture, Circuit Design and IC fabrication process design. The workshop was attended by over 140 people with roughly 60% from industry and 40% from academia. This mixture augurs well for both the research prospects and applicability of this field.Registration was cut off at the conference to prevent it from becoming too crowded.
