Digital Image Processing In Europe: Some Highlights
Pierre H. Chavel, Jean-François Abramatic · Proceedings of SPIE, the International Society for Optical Engineering/Proceedings of SPIE · 1981
Research in digital image processing has been actively carried out in most of the western European countries over the last ten years or so. A full overview of the work done would not be possible in the framework of this communication, so that we shall mainly bring into light some results obtained in the most active domains of digital image processing. Among those are image coding, filtering techniques, image understanding. Applications to such domains as satellite imagery, medical imaging and image broadcasting will be presented.
