Computer Movie of a Vocal-Cord Model
Kenneth G. Shipley, K. Ishizaka, James L. Flanagan · The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America · 1972
A two-mass model of the vocal cords [K. Ishizaka and J. L. Flanagan, this meeting] is programmed to display the glottal area and cord displacement during phonation. Area and displacement values are calculated at a sampling rate of 5000 sec−1, comparable to high-speed photography of the human vocal cords. Computer film is generated to display top and side views of the motion of the model. Effects of variation in subglottal pressure, cord tension, and phonation-neutral area are demonstrated by the film.
