ALGORITHMIC CONSTRUCTION OF KIRBY DIAGRAMS FOR BRANCHED COVERS

We present an algorithm that converts any description of a 3-manifold as a finite-sheeted cover of the 3-sphere, branched over some knot or knotted graph, into a Kirby diagram for that manifold, thus resolving the problem posed in [4].
