Programmable cellular array for sequential-machine realisation

A programmable cellular array for the realisation of arbitrary synchronous sequential machines is presented. This approach to machine realisation is based on the use of a state assignment that yields excitation and output functions in a form suitable for implementation via a cellular structure.
