Microcomputer implementation of a program scheduling network using simulation

Rasaratnam Logendran · International Journal of Systems Science · 1991

A simulation model based on a simple and effective logic has been developed and implemented on a microcomputer to be used by the coordinating office staff of the national univeristy teleconferencing network (NUTN) in their future program planning. With the anticipated growth of the network, it is essential for the coordinating office staff to consider frequent model analyses with changes in model parameters. This requires the model lo be flexible and easy to use. These factors have been considered in the implementation of the model. Both qualitative and quantitative data have been used in the development of the model, and is further analysed based on two priority rules. The results obtained from the model have been used by the coordinating office staff as suitable decision rules for effective program planning during both developmental and permanent phases of the network.
