Technical note: Energy indicator recorder: a general purpose control box: Use of a single phase wattmeter with a wide range of single and three phase motors

Summary A control box has been devised which will allow a watt or watt‐hour meter to be used to measure the work done when a product is mechanically treated during processing. Backing‐off controls neutralize the off‐load power of the motor, so that only the power used in the process is measured, and selector switches permit the same meter to be used with both small and large motors operating on single or three phase supplies.
